8-Day Kenya & Tanzania Safari: Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru & Serengeti

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

You’ll meet at the Nairobi city centre. After the briefing, you’ll start your 5 to 6-hour journey to the Masai Mara, stopping over at the great Rift Valley viewpoint. You will arrive at the Masai Mara in time for lunch, have lunch short rest. Then, you’ll proceed to an afternoon Maasai village where you’ll interact with Maasai people as well as learning their culture. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge/camp.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

You will have an early morning breakfast, gather at the camp, and depart for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. You will spend the day exploring the park with high chances of seeing lions hunting. If it’s the season, you will witness wildbeast migration as well as visit the Mara River, where the wildbeast crossing normally happens. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at the shores of the Mara River overlooking hippos basking at the riverbank. Later, you’ll drive to the camp/lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, together with other tourist you will have optional Maasai interaction then later check out and drive to Nakuru. Lunch will be served enroute. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Afternoon spend relaxing at your hotel in Nakuru. You will have full board accommodation at the hotel.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

You’ll have an early morning breakfast, then you’ll depart and drive to Nairobi, and lunch will be served en route. You will arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon check in at the hotel. After a short rest, you’ll have dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 5: Nairobi to Arusha-Tanzania

You will have breakfast in the morning and be picked up around 7:30 am, and transferred to the shuttle bus stage. Later, you’ll depart for the Namanga border exchange visa and proceed to Arusha. You will arrive in the afternoon, check in at Charity hotel, and have a short rest. Then, you’ll have dinner and stay overnight at the same hotel.

Day 6: Arusha-Serengeti National Park

You’ll depart after breakfast and drive to Serengeti National Park. You will pass by the viewpoint and arrive in Serengeti, and start a wildlife viewing drive with a picnic lunch. Later, you’ll drive to the camp/lodge, where your tent will be pitched for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Serengeti-Ngorongoro

You’ll have an early morning breakfast and depart for the day with a packed lunch. You will have a game drive across the park with high chances of seeing the Big Five. Lunch will be a picnic. Later, you will check out of the park and drive to the highlands of Ngorongoro, check in at the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Ngorongoro-Arusha

You’ll have breakfast, then drive to the Ngorongoro Crater floor, where you will see plenty of animals. After the game drive, you will check out and drive to Arusha with a drop off at the airport.
